At just 17 years old, Rachel R. Alcuetas carries a quiet strength beyond her years.
A Grade 12 student under the Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) track, Rachel is the youngest among five siblings. In a family where every peso counts, she has learned early on the value of sacrifice, discipline, and hope.
Her father, once a dedicated policeman in Manila, has already retired. Today, the responsibility of supporting the family rests largely on the shoulders of her eldest sister—a public school teacher at Cayetano Arellano High School.
For Rachel, this reality is not a burden—it is a motivation.
Despite financial challenges, Rachel continues to pursue her education with determination. She dreams of becoming an accountant—someone who can one day help lift her family to a more secure future.
But like many students in her situation, the path is not easy.
School requirements—books, projects, daily expenses—can quickly become overwhelming.
Yet Rachel persists.
Now on her second year as a KIDS Educational Foundation grantee, Rachel found not just assistance—but relief.
The financial support she receives is carefully used for her studies:

— Raul’s Story
At 18 years old, Raul D. Malgapo is already proving that leadership is not defined by privilege—but by purpose.
A Grade 12 student under the Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) track, Raul stands out not only for his academic dedication, but for his commitment to serve others.
As the Student Council President, he carries the responsibility of representing his fellow students—balancing leadership, academics, and personal challenges with quiet determination.
Raul comes from a family that understands the true meaning of perseverance.
His mother works as a massage therapist, while his father earns a living as a taxi driver. Together, they work tirelessly to support their family—often putting their children’s needs before their own.
For Raul, their sacrifices are not unnoticed.
They are the reason he strives harder every day.
As a KIDS Educational Foundation grantee, Raul uses his financial allowance with purpose:
- Purchasing school supplies
- Investing in reference books to deepen his learning
- Supporting his academic and leadership responsibilities
