Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled through kidsfoundation.org. It distinguishes information processed through the website from donation and payment information processed separately by the King Baudouin Foundation.

  1. Controller and contact

For personal data collected directly through kidsfoundation.org, other than donation/payment data handled by the King Baudouin Foundation, the controller is Knights for Individual Direct Scholarships (KIDS) Educational Foundation, Inc., Philippines. Privacy and website enquiries can be sent to info@kidsfoundation.org.

  1. Information we collect

If you contact K.I.D.S. through the website or by email, we may receive your name, email address and the contents of your message. The website and its hosting/security providers may also process limited technical information needed to operate and protect the site, such as IP address, browser/device information and server logs.

  1. Purposes and legal bases

We use website-enquiry information to respond to questions and, where relevant, maintain the resulting relationship with supporters or other stakeholders. We use technical information to operate, secure and maintain the website. Where the GDPR applies, these activities are based on the legitimate interests of operating the programme, responding to enquiries and maintaining website security, unless consent or another legal basis is required for a particular activity.

  1. Donations and the King Baudouin Foundation

Donations are made through the KIDS Foundation Friends Fund, managed by the King Baudouin Foundation. The fund itself is not a separate legal entity. Donate links take visitors to the King Baudouin Foundation donation environment. King Baudouin Foundation, a public utility foundation with registered office at Rue Brederode 21, 1000 Brussels, Belgium, enterprise/VAT number BE 0418.762.010, processes donation and payment information under its own privacy terms. K.I.D.S. does not process payment-card details through kidsfoundation.org.

  1. Student stories and photographs

The student stories and photographs selected for publication on this website are published with permission. If a student, parent, guardian or other responsible party wishes to raise a question about a published photograph or story, please contact info@kidsfoundation.org.

  1. Service providers and recipients

We may use service providers for website hosting, administration, email and security. They may process limited personal information only insofar as necessary to provide those services. Donation-related information processed by the King Baudouin Foundation is handled separately under KBF’s own privacy policy.

  1. Retention

Website enquiries are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage the related relationship and meet legitimate administrative or legal requirements. Technical logs are retained in accordance with the operational and security requirements of the relevant service providers.

  1. Cookies and tracking

The site may use strictly necessary technical cookies required for security and correct operation. Non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking technologies will not be activated without the consent required by applicable law. If such technologies are introduced later, the website will be updated with an appropriate notice and consent mechanism.

  1. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction or deletion of personal information relating to you, to request restriction of or object to certain processing, and, where applicable, to withdraw consent. Requests concerning kidsfoundation.org can be sent to info@kidsfoundation.org. Donation-related data held by the King Baudouin Foundation is subject to KBF’s own privacy policy and rights process.

  1. Complaints and changes

Where applicable, you may also lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection supervisory authority. This Privacy Policy may be updated when the website, programme or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page.
